I’ve been a bad blogger…and not a very good scrapbooker either lately. It’s been a busy start to the year but I managed to carve out some time in late January to play with the new releases in the Kelly Purkey shop and they were G.O.O.D.
I wanted to try something a little different and I was eager to get my Project Life album started so I created a small pocket page spread + ‘currently’ travellers notebook card for it. In case you missed it, I’m going with a 6″ by 8″ album that will be filled in pocket pages this year for my 2018 PL album.
I used the beautiful My Universe kit for this spread and although I don’t naturally gravitate to purple I am LOVING how this turned out. That ‘Love You To The Moon And Back’ card was perfect for these pics of Eugene from the first week of January.
I added my journalling to a purple journaling card from the kit and then added that purple sticker with ‘details of today’ from the Forever Travellers Notebook kit. From the My Universe kit, I stamped ‘You Make My World Brighter‘ onto some purple velum and stapled it diagonally across my overhead shot in the top right corner. For one last touch I added a little ‘love’ stamp to the top left corner of the photo of Eugene. That stamp is from the Be Kind stamp set.
I also added a little ‘Currently’ card from the Forever Travellers Notebook kit to the album and added ‘thu’ to it from that same Be Kind stamp set. I’m planning to add that card in various colour ways for each month of the album.
The story: So I had TWO whole weeks of Christmas vacation this year. It was EPIC. Matthew went back to work early in the New Year so it was like old times for Eugene and I. I spent the days scrapbooking, walking the Genes and going on downtown adventures. It was so very good and a great way to ease into a new year. There were so many good quality snuggles – including some in my scrapbooking chair (see top right pic). LOL. I miss these lazy days with Eugene now that I’m working full time so this week was really special to me.
I love how this album is starting off! It’s going to be so cute and a great place to tell some stories about our year. There’s still a few of the My Universe kits left and some Be Kind stamp sets in the shop if you’re interested.
